Day 30 – your favorite song at this time last year
I’m tempted to say it was still “Death Letter” cause I definitely loved that song a lot, but probably for not as many reasons as I do now. I looked back on some posts from about a year ago and I was also listening to some Jason Mraz and Ingrid. I’ll say it might have been “Your Southern Can Is Mine” because I remember wanting to learn to play it and looking more into the blues and Blind Willie McTell.
The White Stripes - “Your Southern Can Is Mine”

And so ends the 30 day song challenge. Good shit.

Day 29 – a song from your childhood
The Bloodhound Gang - “The Bad Touch”
With a vague understanding, we all sang the blatant sexual innuendos aloud as children. Terrifying.

Day 28 – a song that makes you feel guilty
How do I answer this? There was already a “guilty pleasure” song, so I don’t think this is supposed to be the same. And I don’t really have a song that makes me legitimately feel remorse; I haven’t murdered anyone to a soundtrack (and who’s to say I’d be remorseful about that anyways?)
Alright, well I guess I’ll go with Turbo Fruits, because I feel guilty for not posting their music sooner and more people need to listen to them cause they’re awesome. And I feel guilty that I haven’t bought an album of theirs yet.

Day 27 – a song that you wish you could play
White Denim - “Burnished”

I love it all: their dynamic song structures, guitar harmonies, both the dreamy and powerful singing voices of James Petralli…it’s not just limited to this song; in general, I wish I could jam and shred like these guys.
related: The Guardian’s review of D
and my review: it’s just awesome. so awesome.

Day 26 – a song that you can play on an instrument
Dr. Dog - “Golden Hind”

Here’s a little video from my packed up dorm room on move out day:

Day 24 – a song that you want to play at your funeral
Ingrid Michaelson - “Everybody”

Tough again…and I’m picking my own funeral mix too. I don’t want people in attendance thinking “that guy had horrible music taste.”

Day 23 – a song that you want to play at your wedding
The Raconteurs - “Yellow Sun”

I wish I saved “New Coat” for this one. Also, I hope I get to pick all the music for my wedding…but I guess anyone that marries me would have similar taste in music, so we could pick together.

Day 22 – a song that you listen to when you’re sad
The Greenhornes - “My Sparrow”

It’s kind of a sad song, but I still think it would manage to lift me up a little if I was feeling down.
